The two photos above were both taken in Orange County, Florida. To me, it is amazing how the wading birds and the alligators come to terms with sharing the same pond. It is very rare that an alligator attacks a full grown bird. They are, however, very watchful of new borns that are apt to fall out of their nests, and consider them to be fair game. I'm sure some people will view the image on the right and feel that this must be a doctored "photoshoped" picture of the egret riding on top of the 'gator. However, it is a totally untouched image.
