Egyptian Goose
Egyptian Goose ( Alopochen aegyptiacus )

Although it is believed that the Egyptian Goose originated in Africa, it is now distributed worldwide. They prefer almost any wetlands and feed primarily on grasses, seeds, and plant stems. They occasionally eat small worms or locusts. They are one of the smaller breeds of geese and often mistaken for a duck. Photographed in Lake County, Florida

Canada Goose
Canada Goose (Branta canadensis)
There are two divisions in the Canada Goose: the smaller (only about 24 inches high) which lacks the white cheek patch, and the larger (standing about 45 inches high). When people in North America speak of “wild geese,” it is generally this species they have in mind. Its range is from Alaska south to the Gulf Coast. It’s found as a semi-domesticated bird in many city parks and recreation areas. Photographed in Lake County, Florida.
