Great Blue Herons (Continued) The normally placid Great Blue Heron on the upper left was fussing at a group of White Ibises that were intruding into his fishing territory. All of the photos on this page were taken in Lake County, Florida.
The heron above left wasn't angry. That is just an intense stare as he was searching for breakfast in the pond.
The fellow on the left caught his dinner and it proved to be quite a chore to eat. He carried it back up on the bank and would drop it and pick it up and walk around with it and drop it again. Finally, he stood on it with one foot and tore it apart with his beak.
