I received my Bachelor's in Biology from Oberlin College in 2014 and my Master of Science in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 2019. Subsequently, I gained 4 years of forestry experience employed by the USDA-NRCS and the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.
Originally from Yonkers, New York, I moved to West Virginia in 2021 to pursue a dream job as a bird biologist. Since that start, I've met with hundreds of private landowners across the state to restore habitat for the Cerulean Warbler and the Golden-winged Warbler, two of West Virginia's rarest songbirds. Personally, I've grown into a forest restorationist; a rock climber; ‘hey bird lady’ to my friend Bobby Thomas, a Master Logger; and an entrepreneur. I incorporated Birds & Such in March 2023 and took on the business full-time starting February 2025. I now offer private forest owners in Appalachia a blended-finance model of forest management - meaning, I tap in to all available income streams for my clients using my exceptional project management skills. Every acre counts!
